How do I insert {cr}{lf} into rvf document

I have several hundred rvf documents stored in a database and I display

these documents in my application. Each document contains text markers

"<cr>" in place of actual hard returns so that they can be written to a text

file in one-record-per-line format. I need to replace these markers with

actual hard return/new line when the document is displayed in the app. I've

tried doing this but each time I get the text in my document rather than a

actual carriage return. Please advise.
